Confederate Kentucky regiments from the Civil War. Other 19th-century conflicts
represented in the flag collection include the Mexican War and the
Spanish-American War.
Fine Arts.
Paintings in the collection include the official portraits of all of Kentucky's
governors, located in the Hall of Governors at the Thomas D. Clark Center
for Kentucky History.
Quilts. The
Kentucky Historical Society has approximately 140 quilts in its
collection. They are as diverse as the people who made them and come to
the Society from all regions of the state. The oldest date to the late
1700s with the majority having been made during the late-Victorian era.
KHS continues to collect quilts, including those made in the 20th and 21st
centuries, and select examples are exhibited regularly in Kentucky
Journey, the permanent exhibit of the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky
History.
